Clothing Donations

We just completed a huge round of shopping days and will schedule more donation days for May and/or June 2024. Please join our mailing list to be kept up to date. REMEMBER: Never leave items outside our door, as this will jeopardize our tenancy. REFER TO GUIDELINES BELOW BEFORE DONATING

2024

Check back here for future donation days.

Add your name to our mailing list (by emailing CommunityWardrobe@horsemenpta.com) and you’ll never miss another donation day!

*Donation GUIDELINES

We accept items for all members of the family, including shoes, jewelry, toiletries, and handbags. When packing up your donations, please keep these tips in mind:

➡️ Remember: if you wouldn’t give it to a friend, please don’t give it to us. ⬅️

Donations we especially LIKE:

✅ Size XS, Small, and Medium men’s clothes, and men’s shoes sizes 5-9

✅ Teen boy clothing

✅ Our clients love Sleepy Hollow spirit wear!

✅ Children’s (but not baby) shoes

✅ New socks in packaging (check out our Amazon wishlist)

✅ Reading glasses. These change some people’s lives in seconds.

✅ We accept purses, handbags, backpacks, and duffels if they are in very good condition.

✅ We take some prom, bridesmaid, and quinceanera dresses.

✅ We are once again accepting XL women’s clothing.

✅ Unopened toiletries, especially toothpaste and shampoo, are in demand. Donate your hotel goodies or purchase them for us to distribute from our Amazon Wishlist.

(Thanks to our partnership with 914Cares, we have a steady supply of period products and diapers to offer our clients.)

We WON’T accept:

❌ We are not currently accepting any more children’s pajamas

❌ We do not currently need maternity wear.

❌ We can not currently take linens or blankets (we ran out of space!).

❌ Used socks

❌ Used underwear, except for bras (we accept bras and lingerie in appealing condition)

❌ Hangers

❌ Any torn, stained, dirty, hairy, or smoke-scented item

➡️ If you bring career clothing, please only bring a few items: we don’t have need or room for many suits. ⬅️

❌ Donations brought outside the dates of our scheduled donation windows.

These lists change as our inventory changes so check back frequently. We update regularly.

We LOVE IT when:

You put your donations in multiple bags sorted and labeled by gender and size. Please be prepared to take home anything that doesn’t meet the criteria on this page. We simply don’t have the person power or the space to manage the excess.

Sorting your donation into categories makes it easier (and quicker) to get your stuff out into the world again!
