  • Vice President – Sophia Rana
  • Treasurer – Liz Cronin
  • Secretary – Doug Wray

All dues paying Horsemen PTA members may vote in the election at the next General Membership Meeting via Zoom on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

Meet the Candidates!

Liza Price is the current Horsemen PTA President for the ‘23-‘24 school year. A resident of Tarrytown, she lives here with her husband, her two sons (both TUFSD students, JP and WI), and her dog. Liza joined the PTA as a class parent 3 years ago and has continued to take on new roles, last year as Spirit Wear Co-Chair and this year as President. She has also chaired numerous events, such as the Scholastic Book Fairs, Elementary Movie Night, and Teacher Appreciation Week. Liza’s passions are baking (she’s a pastry chef!) and advocating for children, and she looks forward to another year as a part of the Horsemen PTA.

Sophia Rana is a devoted mother, wife, and accomplished dentist.  As a 20-year resident of Tarrytown, she loves this community and has a passion for advocating for our children.   Her son is currently a student at SHMS.  Sophia has been actively involved in Horsemen PTA for 9 years, volunteering as class parent, chairing PTA events, and serving as Horsemen PTA President (2021-23).  The experience she gained as PTA President will be invaluable as she returns to serve on the Executive Committee. She is also co-founder and co-director of the Community Wardrobe and is grateful for the opportunity to serve our greater community in this role.

Liz Cronin is the current Horsemen PTA Treasurer for the ‘23-‘24 school year.  Liz has been a resident of Tarrytown for 20 years and has a daughter in the 5th grade at Washington Irving. Liz joined the PTA when her daughter was in kindergarten and has participated as a class parent, Scholastic Book Fair Co-Chair, and volunteer at many events over the years

Douglas Wray moved to the district in the mid 1990’s, attending middle and high school. He returned with his bachelor’s degree and began volunteering for SHFD and SHAC. Now he has two children in the district. As a newcomer to the PTA, he is eager to learn and excited to serve our parents, teachers, and students.
