New Home for Community Wardrobe

We are so excited to announce our new permanent Community Wardrobe location at 222 North Washington, just south of Beekman, in the heart of the Village of Sleepy Hollow.

Since we began helping our school district’s clothing-insecure families in Dec 2020, we have clothed thousands of people within and outside the TUFSD, offering a dignified “shopping” experience, and operating solely with volunteer labor, donated inventory, and donated space.

Now that we have a permanent location, we have the financial responsibility of RENT and other supplies, so our next step is FUNDRAISING. Here’s how you can help:

Sponsor a month of rent. Visit our website for details: https://horsemenpta.com/community-wardrobe/

Make a monetary donation via check or online (even $5 helps!): https://nyspta-horseman.memberhub.com/store/items/828631

Purchase items from our Amazon wish list: https://www.amazon.com/…/1TVNZ…/ref=nav_wishlist_lists_1

Volunteer

**We’re not ready to accept clothing donations yet but we promise to keep you posted!

Community Wardrobe is a committee of the Horsemen PTA, a 501(c)(3) organization, so your donation is tax deductible. Thank you to our amazing community for your continued support!

Introducing the Community Wardrobe

Community Wardrobe is a new, joint effort of the Horsemen PTA and the Village of Sleepy Hollow that finds new homes for good clothes…free to locals who need them. Interested neighbors may come by appointment only.

The Wardrobe’s temporary home, through March, is the Riverwalk Center (aka the bathhouse) at Kingsland Point Park in Sleepy Hollow. Clients can come BY APPOINTMENT ONLY to find clothes and shoes for the whole family.

For more information, including the links to make an appointment or volunteer, please visit our Community Wardrobe page.

If you have a lead on a large, donated, walkable space in our villages, please contact us. We’re looking for a permanent home for this program.
