Friday, November 7th, three of our district staff was recognized at the WEPR-PTA Luncheon. The Westchester East Putnam Regional PTA group, of which we are a part is a Part of the greater NYS PTA. Each fall they host a luncheon where they recognize the work, advocacy and efforts that work to support the children and schools throughout our communities. We were asked to nominate people that fit that description.

Our group was proud to nominate Billy Almeda, Greg Valentin and Manny Guzman; head custodians at John Paulding, W.L. Morse and Washington Irving, respectively. To our delight, their nominations were approved and they were recognized at Friday’s luncheon.

We chose to nominate these three gentlemen because they consistently go above and beyond to help the PTA in all of our efforts at the schools they represent. They anticipate our needs with different events that we have and make logistical suggestions to help make the events easier. They deliver our packages and help distribute materials/orders when our fundraisers come in. They help us each time with a smile on their faces regardless if it’s after a late night or weekend event or during the school day. They are continually asking “How can I help?” We truly could not do all we do for the elementary schools in our district without them.  Both Manny Guzman and Greg Valentin were able to attend the luncheon, Billy Almeda was not able to attend and will receive his recognition at his school, John Paulding.
